Santa’s POD in the Pines was filled to the brim!

Clients of the Douglas/Elbert Task Force will have a brighter holiday season, thanks to the generosity of our readers and many other friends, businesses, and family members from outside the community who helped fill the “POD in the Pines” with much-needed new clothing, toys, toiletries, and food.

Clients of the Douglas/Elbert Task Force will have a brighter holiday season, thanks to the generosity of our readers and many other friends, businesses, and family members from outside the community who helped fill the “POD in the Pines” with much-needed new clothing, toys, toiletries, and food.

Marcella Shadle, executive director of the Douglas/Elbert Task Force was overwhelmed by the amount of items collected for her organization.  “It has been such fun working with Woody and his team at Sterling Building & Design to help the Douglas/Elbert Task Force provide Christmas for our neighbors in need through the Pod in the Pines campaign.  I am enormously grateful for their generosity,” remarked Shadle.  “I am also thankful that the campaign has raised awareness in our community about families that would not otherwise enjoy this Christmas season without our intervention.  I am hopeful that the awareness will not diminish in the New Year, and that people will continue to come alongside the Douglas/Elbert Task Force to help us do the important work we do – to help people through troublesome times with dignity.”  To learn more about the Douglas/Elbert Task Force, visit www.DETaskForce.org.
